How Montekit works and how to get your custom printable kit.
What is Montekit?
Montekit lets you create a custom printable story kit for your child (ages 1–12). Each kit includes a short story, full-color illustrations, matching coloring pages, and cover artwork. You pay once, and the kit is generated and sent to your email as a ZIP file that you can print and bind at home.
How it works
- Start with an idea — Write a short story theme or use one of the inspiration prompts on the home page.
- Fill in the form — Describe your story theme, optionally add a story character name, and choose an age group.
- Pay once — Click “Create My Kit” to go to secure checkout. One-time payment, no subscription.
- Get your kit by email — After payment, your custom kit is generated and a download link is sent to your email. The link is valid for a limited time.
Story ideas
On the home page, you can describe a story in one sentence or click an inspiration idea to fill the theme box. Short, concrete ideas work best.
Examples: “A little duckling tries to keep up with Mama Duck” or “A little bear learns to share snacks with a friend during playtime.”
Form fields
- Theme — Describe the story in one sentence. This is the main idea used to generate the story and images.
- Character name (optional) — Used in the story text only. Images still use the animal character matched from your theme.
- Age group — Choose 2~3, 4~5, or 6+. Story vocabulary and sentence length are adjusted for the selected age.
Payment and delivery
Payment is one-time $9.99 via our secure checkout. After you pay, we generate your kit (story + print spreads + cover art) and email you a download link. Open the link to download a ZIP file containing the story, images, and a short print-and-bind guide. You can then print and assemble the kit at home.
Refunds
Because each kit is a personalized digital product generated for your order, refunds are generally not available after the kit has been successfully delivered or downloaded.
We can still help if something went wrong. If your order was not delivered, the download link does not work, or the generated files are clearly broken or unusable, please contact support and we will review the case. When appropriate, we may re-send, re-generate, or issue a refund.
If an order is refunded or charged back, access to the download link may be removed.
What’s in the kit?
From the home page, your download is a ZIP folder. Typical layout:
- story.txt — Read-aloud story text.
- illustrations/ — Full-color story illustrations, one PNG per scene.
- coloring/ — Matching black-and-white coloring pages, one PNG per scene.
- extras/ — Cover and back cover artwork.
- Print guide — Short PDF or text tips when included.
